A NES out of nowhere

Filed under: Bargain hunting, Games, NES, Retro — zhooibaal @ 19:48000000

Today I had planned to go and pick up a Microsoft Sidewinder Pro Force Feedback, but it turned out to be the one without force feedback and it had a gameport instead of USB which it had in the description. So at first I thought that I went there all for nothing. But then the subject of old videogame consoles came up and the seller said that she had a NES lying around catching dust which I could buy so that my trip wasn’t completely for nothing.

So she called a few people to ask if she could sell it and yes, now I have it.
Original box, 2 controllers, 2 RF splitters (one reserve I think) and 9 games for €35,00, that’s not too much if you ask me.

As I said, I got 9 games with it:

  1. Super Mario Bros.
  2. Super Mario Bros. 2
  3. Super Mario Bros. 3
  4. The Legend of Zelda
  5. Tom and Jerry
  6. Duck Tales
  7. Slalom
  8. Super Spike V’Ball
  9. Tennis

I have tested the console with Super Mario Bros. 2 and haven’t yet played any of the others, I will do so in the near future and add the games to my videogames list with ratings ASAP.

…End of line.

  1. Wow, that’s a pretty good deal considering it comes with all three Mario games and Zelda 1.

I’m still kicking myself for selling Mario 2, 3 and Zelda 1.

Welcome to the world of simple fun πŸ™‚

  2. You will like Duck Tales – it’s from Capcom. Great game, if a little too easy.

That Tom and Jerry game, though – ugh.

Slalom – never heard of it.

  3. One last thing – is the Zelda cartridge gold or just plain grey?

The gold one is more valuable.

  4. hehe, I too thought it was quite a good deal πŸ˜› I made them actually believe that I was still paying a lot >=D I just love n00bs.

The Zelda cartridge is a gold one, looks great, but a small piece on the side that goes in the NES has broken off, but I don’t think that it’s serious, but it’s also rattling, some debris inside the cartridge, I’ll have to see if it still works, but I’m not a huge fan of Zelda anyway, I just think the cartridge looks cool πŸ˜›

I actually thought that I already got 3 comments… But it turned out it’s actually only 1 comment… It’s just split in 3…

  5. I’m allways rather suprised when I meet people who aren’t fans of Zelda. To each their own I supposes. Ducktales is a great game.

  6. Yep, to each their own πŸ˜›

Ducktales is indeed a fun game, but I’m not that good at platform jump ‘n run, I guess it’s just too long ago that I last played such a game except for JnB πŸ˜›
I’ve also been playing Super Mario Bros. for a few minutes, I didn’t get very far, but it’s still a fun game πŸ˜€
